Bangladesh's family structure has shifted quickly. Extended, multi-generational households that once absorbed elder care naturally are giving way to smaller nuclear families, often with adult children working abroad or in cities far from ageing parents.
At the same time, the cost of trained, reliable care has risen faster than household incomes for many families, leaving a gap between what elderly parents need and what a single household can realistically provide alone.
Our Probin Seba Kendro (PSK) programme was built directly for this gap — a community-oriented model that shares clinical staff, facilities and daily programming across residents, making professional-standard care achievable at a cost more families can sustain.
It is not a stopgap measure. PSK residents receive the same nursing supervision, meals and activity programming as any other resident at our centre — the model changes how the cost is shared, not the standard of care delivered.
